BSc Nursing

There are plenty of reasons to study BSc Nursing course. BSc in nursing course is one of the most popular nursing courses in India that trains aspirants to practice nursing in different environments. The course is offered by some of the best Nursing Colleges in India

BSc Nursing course is a bachelor's degree program that trains students in areas of critical care and incorporates values necessary to become nurses and midwives. The undergraduate program is of 4 years duration followed by 6 months of mandatory internship. Students will take part in classroom study, projects and assignments during the course. 

BSc Nursing course is catered in two segments, which are BSc Basic and BSc Post Basic. The eligibility criteria for the BSc Nursing course is a 10+2 or equivalent examination completion certificate from the Science stream with PCB and English as compulsory subjects.

BSc Nursing Post Basic, candidates need to acquire a General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) certificate and register her/himself with State Nurses Registration Council as Registered Nurse Registered Midwife (RNRM).

BSc Nursing Admissions is based on the NEET UG exam for most of the central and state universities followed by a counseling round; however, some universities like AIIMS conduct their own AIIMS entrance exams for admission to BSc nursing courses in AIIMS . The last date for NEET application form 2023 was April 15, 2023. 

BSc Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate course with a focus on training and skill development as mentioned in National Health Policy from 2002. Students after BSc Nursing will become professional nurses capable of taking primary, secondary and tertiary care of people. There are 1,00,000  BSc Nursing course seats in 1940 nursing colleges in India. Students with science in class 12th  are eligible for BSc Nursing. There are 550 numbers of BSc Nursing seats in AIIMS.

BSc Nursing Syllabus consists of subjects like Physiology, Anatomy, Excretory System, Muscular System etc. BSc Nursing course is available in both govt. and private colleges. BSc Nursing Fees in Govt. Collages range between INR 1685 and INR 30,000, &  BSc Nursing Fees in Private Collages range between INR 50,000 to INR 2,25,000.

Students of BSc Nursing course have a moral obligation to act as responsible citizens by following a code of moral values. Nurses play a very important role in keeping society together. They act as the backbone of medical services in any nation.

MSc Nursing

Students can also join a postgraduate program in Public Health management if they do not wish to do a Master’s degree.

  • MSc Nursing is a postgraduate qualification program of 2 years that can be sought after the completion of a 4-year BSc Nursing program.
  • The course centers around thinking about the patients, both truly and intellectually, and helping them to carry on with their life in a profitable manner.
  • To secure admission in MSc Nursing, one must have completed BSc Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing (P.B.B.Sc.), with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Admissions to this course are usually entrance-based. An average fee charged to pursue this course ranges from INR 50,000 to INR 1 lakh per annum.
